2024-2025 Drop/Add

Dear Student and Parent/Guardian:

As of this morning, May 13, 2024, you are able to access courses for the 2024-2025 school year through Infinite Campus. After you log in, go to the "More" menu and click on "Next Year Course Request" to see the 8 courses you are scheduled to take. This is a year-long registration. The 8 courses represent the 4 courses x 2 semesters = 8 courses. You can also see which semester you are taking each course by looking for "Term 1" or "Term 2" after the course name. 

In January, current teachers registered students for the specific level of core courses (Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and CTAE) they recommended and signed students up for advanced courses that required teacher approval, audition, or prerequisite completion. At that time, we also asked students to make selections for their elective courses. Due to class offerings and size limits, your student may have been placed in an alternate course.

If you or your student wish to request a change in your student's course selections, please go online and complete the Google Form:

Please complete the Google Form as soon as possible for the best chance of receiving your requested change(s). If space is available in the course you are requesting and you meet the prerequisite(s) for the course, we will make every effort to accommodate the requested change. We will continue to accept forms until Friday, May 17th, however, courses may fill up before this time.

If you request a level change or course change that the course teacher did not recommend, the Curriculum Office will review your request and you will be notified of the decision by June 7th. If the level change request is accepted the student must take responsibility for his/her success in the course.

Please keep in mind that this is the time for course change requests to be made, and no other opportunity will be given. THERE WILL BE NO DROP/ADD IN AUGUST! Absolutely no course change requests will be accepted after May 17th. You will receive notification of the decision through the email address you submitted on the Google Form.

The deadline to apply for Work-based learning has passed. If your student expressed interest in Work-Based Learning, those courses/placements will not be finalized until the student has been accepted into the 2024-2025 program and hired by an employer. Email kwwilson@jcss.us for questions about the Work-based Learning program.

The deadline for Dual Enrollment was April 1. Students should have already completed the application process with Mrs. Backus. If a dual enrollment course appears on your schedule, it does not mean you have been registered with the college. If you are a dual enrollment student with a schedule issue with your high school classes, do not complete the google form. Please email dbackus@jcss.us if you have any questions about dual enrollment.

If your student does not have any course requests listed or is missing a course, please email sausburn@jcss.us.  We may require documentation before we can schedule your student.
