A message from Coach Lindsey:
Hello East Jackson Volleyball players and parents!! I hope that you are all doing well during these most difficult times. While we have been away from our normal lives, many things have still been happening. Thanks to the efforts of you, your parents, teachers, and administrators, we all made it through our two months of digital learning!!! Even though our athletic seasons were cut short, we have been hard at work trying to prepare for the seasons to come. With that being said, I am pleased to announce that we have hired a new head volleyball coach, Coach Candace Crenshaw. Due to these difficult circumstances, we are not able to introduce our new coach face to face with all of you. However, we look forward to the day (hopefully later this summer) when we can return to some type of normalcy.
As most of you are aware, the GHSA and Jackson Co Schools will allow our athletic programs to return to strength and conditioning activities on June 8th with lots of guidance and procedures for us to follow. Coach Crenshaw has worked on a strength and conditioning plan for our volleyball program.
Workouts will be Tuesdays & Thursdays starting June 9th from 9am-11am.
All Players must:
ü Email Coach Crenshaw firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your attendance to the workouts. We are only allowed 20 people total in each session, so times may be adjusted.
ü Enter and exit the Main Gym from the bridge on the top side near the 8th grade hall – players and coaches only.
ü PRINT, SIGN, and RETURN the waiver form on 1st day of attendance
ü Bring their own water bottles – water fountains are turned off
ü Have a current physical
ü Be academically eligible
From Coach Candace Crenshaw:
I have been an educator for over 17 years. I started coaching while in high school working with youth softball and basketball. I have taught grades six through Master’s level in college. I have a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership, a Specialist and Doctor of Education Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction. I love sports and have coached basketball, soccer, tennis, track, and volleyball. I am blessed to live on a family farm and enjoy cooking, gardening, traveling, playing pickleball and tennis.
My volleyball coaching career began in Florida where I coached the boy’s junior varsity school team for two years. I have coached in Georgia for ten years. In 2007 we were the 7A/AA Region Runner-up and State Qualifier. In 2009 we were the 8A/AA Region Runner-up and State Qualifier. The years 2010-2012 we again made the state playoffs in the AAA division. Numerous players were nominated as region players of the year.
I look forward to seeing the players in the gym for conditioning starting the second week of June and getting to know their families in the near future.
